AT Pavilion is located in the urban area of South Jakarta, where everything is fast-paced and stressful. This Pavilion design was inspired by the need to take a breath between traffic jams, busy work schedules, and the hustle and bustle of the city.
Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac alley, the Pavilion massing fills the rectangular-shaped site horizontally. From the exterior, the monolithic front facade gives the Pavilion a sense of privacy, while the interior spaces are filled with many openings towards the outdoor spaces.
The materials used in this Pavilion consist of three elements: concrete, wood, and steel. Wood plank precast concrete is used to clad the exterior walls, giving texture to the monochrome palette of the house. Custom concrete breezeblocks cover the service area and act as the front facade as well. The vertical garden and swimming pool are the central features of this Pavilion, and therefore the interior spaces are mainly built with big glass doors that offer views of the landscape. Bengkirai wood accents are used to bring a sense of warmth to the Pavilion.
